The Group of Studies and Research on Interdisciplinarity – GEPI – was created in 1981 by Ph D Ivani Catarina Arantes Fazenda. In 1986, it was recognized by Capes – an official institution from the Education Ministry which Coordinates the Improvement of Education at Post -Graduation Level.

The Group consists of researchers from different fields of knowledge linked to Universities and Research Institutions in Brazil and abroad, forming a critical mass in the elaboration of the reflections on Interdisciplinarity.
