Since ancient Greece, friendship has been regarded as one of the most essential relationships in human life. The way this relationship is experienced has changed over the years. Nowadays, we observe a renewed search for these relationships in a time of weak links . The objective of this study was to characterize friendship relations between men and find the place that this relationship holds in the lives of young adults in Brazil. To accomplish that, semi-structured interviews were conducted and analyzed in the light of Analytical Psychology. During the analysis, we realized that friendship is an important and valued relationship by these men and, through the encounter with the other, the experience of contents that were, for long, away from consciousness is possible.
