ABSTRACT: The focus of this study was to investigate the subjective experience of Jungian psychologists and / or clinical psychiatrists with the phenomenon of erotic transference, and to explore this concept. The research also addressed how gender differences can influence the experience with erotic transference. The purpose of this research is to answer the following questions using quantitative and qualitative interviews: Do Jungian psychologists and psychiatrists recognize erotic transference? If you recognize it, how do you characterize it? How do they work analytically with the phenomenon? To this end, a mixed research method with two stages was adopted, in the first a questionnaire with 18 questions was used as an instrument, and in the second stage, a semi-structured interview with 10 questions was used, both conducted online. The participants in the first phase were 269, the sample included Jungian psychologists and / or psychiatrists. The second phase had 10 participants, the sample included Jungian psychologists and / or psychiatrists who had experience with erotic transference. Among the results analyzed, it is noteworthy that the majority of participants did not receive any formal training on how to work with erotic transference; it was found that there is a greater chance of erotic transference to occur with therapists with more years of experience in the profession. In addition, most clinicians reported feeling uncomfortable when dealing with erotic transfer.
