Abstract: Latterly, the psychotherapy practice has been enriched with a set of techniques and procedures that emphasize aspects and resources of the psyche that involves both imagination and fantasy. In the path of works with mental images, some approaches have been popularized and overtopped Psychology among de media. But the main advanced is detected in a specific area which was exclusively reserved to de Medicine: the therapeutic and cure of somatic and psychosomatic illness. This research intends to analyze four important approaches that make use of visual resources in their psychotherapy proposals. The aim is to check if there is a theoretical basement that establishes these techniques and procedures and besides if the results are correspondents to the expectation.
